This remarkable dictionary contains biographical details of 84 Christian contemporary worship songwriters, performers and groups, including information about their spiritual views and links. The author sets out to show how nearly all of them have woefully deficient ideas about salvation and a totally ecumenical goal. Their compromises appear to be both extreme and brazen, yet numerous believers and churches melt in appreciation at the occasional sounder lyric they may produce.
Worst names are accorded three to four pages of information, some a little more. The associations and activities of many of the performers go way beyond what is generally known, and their unspirituality and shame is clearly revealed. The author has conducted considerable research to show churches that the objective of CCM artists is to bridge the church of Christ and the world. He says in the introduction, 'The following documentation proves that contemporary Christian music is a jungle of end-time apostasy.'br> David Cloud is a notable writer challenging modern compromise, including 'quick prayerism' or easy believism. A fundamentalist American preacher, he issues the magazine O Timothy and maintains an amazingly informative website (www.wayoflife.org) alongside being a missionary in Kathmandu, Nepal. He is not reformed in theology, but his defence of the Bible and biblical standards for conduct and evangelism is unrivalled, and his research prodigious. Strongly recommended.
